FIP Foundation – Novosti

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana has informed the FIP Foundation of the destruction of the national stock of essential medicines further to the  fire of the Ghana’s Ministry of Health Central Medical Stores near Accra.

The PSGH is appealing through the FIP to Pharmaceutical Companies, FIP Member Organisations and individual FIP members to kindly donate essential medicines or cash to support the MoH. Please note that all cash donations shall be used to buy essential medicines to support the health system.

The PSGH is particularly worried about the burnt anti-TB medicines. Many smear positive TB cases are currently on treatment; and any treatment interruption might lead to the development of Multidrug- resistant TB (MDR-TB) which is difficult to manage.
